Concussion Education Session EOI
On Monday 16th June from 6.30-7.30pm, Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist, Lisa White from SportsCare Canberra will be conducting a FREE one-hour education session on concussion.
The session is intended for parents and carers of Football participants across the ACT to help them feel empowered and confident to identify concussions, be able to provide immediate care, understand concussion policies in football and to know when to seek advice and follow up treatment. Information will be based on the AIS Australian Concussion Guidelines for Youth and community Sport in combination with the latest evidence-based research into concussion recognition and management in football.
The session will be held in person, but spots are limited to 30 people. If you are interested, please fill out the EOI form.
An email to confirm your spot at this session will be provided on Tuesday 10 June.
Let’s talk about parking!
Unfortunately, we are still getting complaints from local residents about illegal, dangerous and destructive parking at Kaleen on Saturdays.
We have requested that locals report illegal parking to help curb these inconsiderate practices. We also encourage members to report any illegal parking that they see to help stop the unsafe parking that endangers members especially children.
With only 259 parking spots via Birie and Turon Place, parking is at a premium at Kaleen. On-street parking is available, but please be respectful of local residents and park safely/legally.
Parking inspectors regularly patrol the vicinity of sports grounds to support safe parking. You can be fined for parking a vehicle:
- On a footpath
- On a nature strip or roadside verge
- On the wrong side of the road and not in the direction of travel
A parking hack at Kaleen worth considering. Instead of looking for spots on or off Diamantina Cres, try parking on the other side of the stormwater drain along Wakool Cct, Campaspe Cct, Florentine Cct or Tyrrell Cct.
Otherwise, consider carpooling or riding a bike to Kaleen.
Club Vested Officials
U12 teams and above need to provide a Club Vested Official (CVO) at each match, home and away. We also encourage U10-U11 teams to as well.
What is a Club Vested Official?
A CVO represents the club and is responsible for the actions of supporters from their club.
Essentially, they get to wear a cool vest, help ensure spectators behave themselves and foster respect.
Who can be a CVO?
- A parent or another responsible spectator/supporter
- Someone at least 18 years old
- Can’t be a coach, manager, reserve player or assistant referee (linesperson) at the same time
- Can be different people throughout the season

No Kicking Balls Against Shipping Containers
We ask that parents, coaches and managers, tell their players to not kick balls against the club’s shipping containers at Kaleen.
This is to ensure that the attached signage is not damaged and to increase the life of the club’s footballs.
