Belnorth Developing Junior Coaches for 2020

One of the aims for Belnorth in 2020 is to develop junior coaches from Belnorth players. The aim is develop these juniors coaches, where they will be able to coach teams U 6 – U 9. There will be a mentoring program with senior coaches.

For this to work Belnorth still requires parents to be Managers and support these junior coaches. Belnorth will invest in coaching course and ensuring that these junior coaches are accredited.

We are also fortunate to have Esperance Anderson, who started as a junior coach, volunteering to be a mentor for our junior coaches:

"My name is Esperance Anderson and I have been associated with Belnorth – playing and refereeing – for 15 years. Despite my age – 19 years old – I have also been coaching Junior Football for the past seven years; which is where many may recognise me from.

Even from a young age I have always respected and looked up to my coaches, who have had such a major influence on my choice to be a coach as well. I began coaching when I was 13, when one of my younger brothers was in an U6’s team, after watching my Mum coach him the season before. Just watching the enjoyment and teamwork of the players throughout that first season as a coach was a major boost for me to continue for seasons to come; despite the early mornings."

If you are interested in being mentored in the 2020 Winter season then please contact me on competitive@belnorth.org

If you are a junior player and would like to coach in 2020, please email admin@belnorth.org

Vacant Committee Positions

The Grounds Manager position remains vacant. The Grounds Manager handles ground bookings and ground maintenance. Whilst existing committee members have been bravely plugging the gaps, this is not a long term solution. Hence, the call is going out to the Belnorth community to pitch in and help.
