Women in Football Panel

On Wednesday 29 July, ANU Women’s Football Club is bringing together some of the pioneers who helped shape women’s football in Canberra for a special Women in Football Panel at Ainslie Football Club.

This is a rare opportunity to hear firsthand stories from the women who built the foundations of the game locally. Reflect on how far we’ve come over the past 50 years, and explore what’s next as women’s football continues its rapid growth.

The panel will feature:

Heather Reid AM – Women’s football pioneer and Co-Founder of ANU Women’s Football Club

Kat Yuile – Co-Founder and inaugural President of South Canberra Football Club

Andrea Hotchkiss – Founder of the ACT Women’s Soccer Association and Life Member of Capital Football

  • Date: Wednesday 29 July 2026
  • Time: 6:30pm for a 7pm start
  • Venue: Ainslie Football Club

This is a conversation that spans five decades of football history and brings together some of the people who helped make today’s game possible. We’d love to see clubs across Canberra represented in the room.

Tickets are on sale now and places are limited. Get your tickets at:

Club Jersey and Kit Laundry Care

To avoid any laundry issues with club jerseys, short, and socks, like fading, shrinkage, or colours running, please be aware of the following garment care advice.

  • Avoid detergents with Optical Brighteners
  • Avoid detergents with enzymes
  • Avoid bleach/oxi laundry products
  • Wash on a cycle with a temperature of 30 degrees or less.
  • Don’t soak garments
  • Wash jerseys inside out

As you’ll notice from the above advice, less is more when looking after your kit and will probably be cheaper!

U10 to U18 Fixtures

U10 to U18 Fixtures beyond the immediate weekend are currently being reviewed in draft form by individual club admins to ensure fixtures are allocated to the most suitable fields for game day.

To assist members with game day planning/logistics, we have shared a list of future Belnorth draft fixtures. This will be updated manually periodically. Unfortunately, it will not be a complete list, as there are away fixtures that the home club needs to allocate a ground/field. We do not have visibility of these missing fixtures. We hope in the coming weeks that this will be rectified, or the fixtures are published in Dribl. If your team is missing a fixture for a certain round, assume you are playing away and plan accordingly.

Capital Football have also shared a list of all U10-U15 draft fixtures that can be downloaded. They will release a U16 and U18 version next week.

For immediately upcoming home fixtures, please refer to the Net Duty Document, usually updated on Mondays/Tuesdays before the Saturday.

Walking Football ACT Trials

The ACT has been invited to participate in the inaugural WFFA Cup, the new National State & Territory Walking Football Championships, to be held in Sydney on 10–11 October 2026. The WFFA Cup is a representative tournament designed to bring together players from across the country in true state and territory competition. This is not a club tournament or open-entry event, it is for state teams. It will promote connection across the national walking football community and create a clear competitive pathway within the WFFA structure. Teams will compete to become category champions, with an overall Australian Champion State or Territory also to be crowned. The tournament will include six categories aligned with international FIWFA age-group structures:

  • Over-40s Women
  • Over-50s Men
  • Over-50s Women
  • Over-60s Men
  • Over-60s Women
  • Over-70s Men

If you would like to be considered for an ACT team in any of the above age groups, please submit an EOI available via the link below which includes further information about the tournament. Trials will be conducted in July.
