Registration Still on Hold

2025 registration is still on hold, with us waiting for the wheels to turn with the new PlayFootball 2.0 platform. Surprise, surprise there are teething issues. Thank you for your patience, we know it’s testing ours…

Powerchair Football ‘Come and Try Day’

Capital Football will be hosting a Powerchair Football ‘Come and Ty Day’ on Saturday, 8th February from 10 am to 3 pm (9:30 am arrival) at the AIS Training Hall Courts 4 & 5.

It is for all ages and is free-of-charge.

2025 Sponsorship Packages Released

For 2025, we have revamped the Belnorth FC Sponsorship Packages to cater for more businesses, big and small, who want to support Belnorth FC.

We still have our flagship Jersey Sponsorship packages, but have supplemented with Brand Promotion tiers to suit wider budgets.

We also welcome businesses to provide Player of the Match Awards for teams and Team Training Jersey Sponsorship. Of course, we are open to other support that businesses would like to offer.

Vital Club Volunteers Needed

Thank you to members who have enquired about Committee Roles or offered general assistance. We have enticed some people with the Small Sided Games and Vice President roles. Welcome aboard Amy and Lauchlan!

We still have a couple of hats to fill! The Secretary and Minis (U5-U7 Open) Registrar roles are still vacant.

Winter Game Day Staff Wanted

With the 2025 Winter Season set to start on the 3rd of May, we are on the look out for 3 to 4 game day staff. It is a paid position.

Game Day staff help with distributing equipment (goals, flags, etc) for game days and assisting members including providing first aid. First Aid and CPR qualifications are required. Ideally 18 years or over.

Specialised Goalkeeper Coaching

Capital Goalkeeper Coaching is taking expressions of interest for specialised goalkeeper training for term 1.

Run by Deakin Jewell, NPL level player and qualifed coach, this training is targeted to goalkeepers 13+ of all abilities in small groups focusing on building technical skills, mental resilience, and a true passion for the game.

Term 1 dates will be 17th Feb to 7th April (TBC) and will be based in Belconnen (location TBC).

Foundation of Football Course in March EOI

The Belconnen Family of clubs are looking to hold a Foundation of Football Course for its interested members in March ahead of the oncoming season.

Coaching Courses in February 2025

Pre-season is the best time to level up your coaching credentials ahead of the season. Thankfully, there are two coaching courses on offer.

FA/AFC C-Diploma (with Foundation of Football Course)

The C Diploma is aimed at coaches working with advanced beginner to competent level players or players aged approximately twelve (12) years of age and above.

When: 5 sessions 9/2, 15/2, 22/2, 1/3 & 8/3 from 8 am to 5 pm

Where: Hawker Football Centre

Cost: $1050

Coerver Coaching Youth Diploma 1

The purpose of the Coerver Coaching Youth Diploma 1 is to help you, whether you are a professional academy coach, senior or junior youth coach, teacher or parent to plan & deliver more effective youth coaching sessions. You will learn about the Coerver Coaching philosophy and how to devise a session plan to develop skilled, confident, and creative players and teams.

When: 2 sessions 15/02 and 16/02, 8:30 am – 2:00 pm

Where: University of Canberra

Cost: $449

Game Leader and Referee courses for 2025 are yet to be announced. To register your interest you can email Belnorth’s Referee Coordinator, Matthew Willington via refcoord@belnorth.org.

2025 Pre-Season Dates So Far

  • Mid-January: Registration Opens (pending Capital Football Registration fees/administration)
  • February: U10-U18 Grading (specific dates TBD)
  • 5/4/2025: Seniors season starts
  • 3/5/2025: U5-U18 seasons starts

Registration closing dates and other preseason events are yet to be confirmed.

Current Belnorth FC Vacancies

The below vital roles are currently vacant.

  • Winter Game Day Staff (paid): Game Day staff help with distributing equipment (goals, flags, etc) for game days and assisting members including the administration of first aid. First Aid and CPR qualifications are required.
  • Secretary (volunteer/committee): Public Officer, custody of books, maintains written record (e.g. minutes/action items), lodgement of reporting documents for incorporated association.
  • Minis Registrar (volunteer/committee): Manages the registration and running of the U5 to U7 Open age groups along with general committee member duties (e.g. meetings, decisions)
  • Technical Director (paid): responsible for developing, implementing and nurturing player and coach development through sound program design and development for Belnorth. Further details here.
  • Club Changers (volunteer): Assist with implementing Club Changer modules.
  • General Helpers (Volunteers).
  • Coaches & Managers (Volunteers).

Every volunteer, whether a coach, manager, CVO, referee or committee member, helps the club tick.
