Survey: Charitable Status for Amateur Sport

Community sport in Australia is severely underfunded. In 2023, one in four small community sports clubs were contemplating closing and 1 in 4 athletes considered leaving their sport.

The Australian Sports Foundation (ASF) is working with the Australian Government to have ‘Amateur Sport’ included as a charitable purpose under section 12 of the Charities Act (C’th) 2013.

ASF estimates that this change will unlock over $103 million in philanthropic giving a year for the sector by 2030 for community/amateur sport.

To assist in this proposal, ASF are consulting clubs and athletes to make representations to Government. If you support charitable status for club’s like Belnorth FC let ASF know via the survey link below.

Henk’s Summer Comp

We know you love Henk’s Summer Comp, but we are still putting the finishing touches on the winter season and the end of season festivities. A big feat for 1600 odd players and their entourage!

We expect the details to drop very late August and it will be announced by this very newsletter along with social media. We have the comp pencilled in to start mid October, with Juniors on Monday the 14th October and Seniors Tuesday the 15th. We appreciate your patience at this very busy time.

In anticipation of Henk’s Summer Comp, we have two groups available to allow parents and players to connect with each other to form teams. We have a Junior Group for U5-U18 and a Senior Group for adults. We encourage parents and players to dive in to connect and plan, as you will enjoy the comp more with new friends than complete strangers in round one!

Walking Football

Both Team nominations (Team lists) and player registration will close COB Thursday 10 October.

If you are interested and struggling to form a team, please email admin@belnorth.org and we can look to put interested players in touch with each other.

Team Photos Still to Collect

Thank you to the teams that picked up their photos so far. The majority of teams have now picked them up. See the list below of team photos that are still waiting to be picked up. The photos will be available again this Saturday games day from the Central Hub at Kaleen.

We ask that team coaches, managers or representatives pick up photos on the team’s behalf to distribute to those that ordered items. Individual photo orders will not be handed out, they must be collected as a team. Collectors will be asked to sign for photos.
