Belnorth Newsletter: Summer Comp, Finals, Volunteers & Eskies Needed, Kit Returns

Last Round Of Games U5 to U15

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end with Saturday being the last round of games for our U5 to U15. Where has the time gone?

It has been great to get a season free of wash outs for our Junior teams, after a couple of seasons of wet weather and disruptions due to the pandemic. With El Nino on the horizon, we can expect more dry weather going forward, but that has it’s own drawbacks.

It is recommended that team coaches/managers collect jerseys this weekend to launder them, ready for the kit return on 9/9/2023. More details about Kit Return are available later in this newsletter.

Summer Comp Nominations Open!

Nominations are now open for Henk’s Summer Comp 2023/24 and will close on 22/9/2023.

Open to players of all abilities that are 5 years and over, including new for 2023, a dedicated Womens Only Comp!

Unfortunately, we didn’t get enough interest in the Masters (O35s) comp. Masters (O35s) players are still invited to nominate for our Open Comp.

U16 & U18 Open Semi-Finals this Saturday

Congratulations to our U16 and U18 Open teams who have finished in the top four with the U18/2 Open Lions topping the table by 10 points! All three teams have been rewarded with home semi-finals at Kaleen this Saturday, 3:10 pm.

If free Saturday afternoon, come along and cheer the boys on to Grand Finals!

U16/2 Open: Belnorth FC Eagles v Weston Molonglo FC Devils (Kaleen 107)

U18/2 Open: Belnorth FC Lions v Radford College Raptors (Kaleen 124)

U18/3 Open: Belnorth FC v Brindabella Blues FC (Kaleen 108)

SLW3 Belles Victorious in Semi-Finals

Belnorth’s State League 3 Women, after an early scare, triumphed 3-1 winners against Belsouth FC in their semi-final on Sunday, with Helene Blackwell scoring a brace.

The Belles now play Weston Molonglo FC in this Sunday’s Grand Final. It will be a rematch of last year’s unsuccessful Grand Final, where they lost to WMFC. Here’s hoping the Belles go one better and bring home some silverware!

9 am 3/9/2023SLW3 Grand Final – Belnorth FC Belles vs WMFC (Harrison 101)

In contrast, it was a hard day at the office for our senior men in their semi-finals last weekend. The CLM3 Strikers went down 2-0 in a limp display. CLM1 Bisons were outclassed 4-0 and despite topping the table after the regular season, the O55 lost to BBFC 4-0, last year’s premiers. Better luck next year lads.
