Club Award Nominations Close Friday

With the Junior and Senior Presentations next month, we are calling for Club Award nominations.

Junior and Senior Club Awards include Player of Year (Male & Female), Club Person of the Year and Coach of the Year. Whether you are in awe of a playergrateful to a coach or admire a volunteer, there is a Club Award worth nominating them for via the nomination forms.

Nominations are open now until midnight on the 25th of August.

BBFC Gala Day Success

Congratulations to the U8 Belnorth Emus for their runners-up place and the U9 Belnorth Strikers on their third-place finish at Sunday’s Gala Day, organised by Brindabella Blues FC.

Well done, Emus and Strikers!

Child Safety Reminder

Unfortunately, we have received a report of two young children (2-3 years old) being left alone in a car unattended on Thursday evening at Kaleen. Both children were crying and upset, with the windows closed.

There is no excuse or reason to leave toddlers alone in cars at training.

Finals Football

The regular senior season concluded on the weekend with top four teams gearing up for semi-finals next weekend with the chance to make grand finals the week after.

Good luck to the semi-finalists below. We encourage you to cheer them on, if you can make it.

Seniors aren’t the only ones looking at finals. Our U16 Open Div 2U18 Open Div 2 and U18 Open Div 3 teams are all safe in the top four with one round to go!

Kit Return 9/9/2023

Team kit returns (jerseys, balls, bibs, training equipment) will occur on Saturday, 9/9/2023*, from 9 am to 12 pm at Kaleen Playing Fields.

It is recommended that team coaches/managers collect jerseys at the last game, 2/9/2023, to launder them, ready for the kit return on 9/9/2023.

Please ensure that all jerseys are collected. Trophies will be withheld if a player’s designated jersey is not returned.

*Alternative arrangements will be made U16 and U18 teams that make finals on the 9/9/2023 

Team Photo Collection

Team Photos are still available to collect. Coaches and Managers will be able to collect them on behalf of their team on the remaining Saturday game days at Kaleen, 26/8/2023 and 2/9/2023.

U5 to U12 Presentations

Time: 1-6 pm (schedule)

Coerver Coaching Performance Academy Trials

The Coerver® Coaching Performance Academy is a football school for serious, dedicated individuals seeking additional professional training to improve their technical ability and become more advanced players. Their mission is to provide comprehensive football education for young players looking to develop the skills necessary to elevate their game to the next level.

Summer Comp Expression of Interest

To assist us with the planning of Henk’s Summer Comp 2023/24, we would like to gauge the interest for different age groups and formats.

In particular, we want to get an idea of how many teams are interested in both a Womens Only Comp and a Masters Comp.

Nominations and costs will be released in early September.

Karl Posselt Cup 2023

The Merimbula Grasshopper Football Club Inc. will host the 12th Karl Posselt Cup on the weekend of September 30th – October 1st, 2023.

This tournament is open to four divisions, U12 Boys and U12 Girls, playing 9 v 9 format, plus U13 Boys and U14 Girls playing 11 v 11. Club and association teams are welcome to enter.

Nominations close Friday, 1st of September 2023. Further information and nomination forms can be found here.

Play On Exhibition – Last Days

Coinciding with the Women’s World Cup being played right here in Australia and New Zealand, the University of Canberra and local Canberrans have organised the Play On Exhibition – Celebrating Womens Football From Grassroots to Glory.

The exhibition is held at the University of Canberra from the 3rd of July until the 31st of August. You can check it out for free during the week via semi-guided tours or casually.

Current Belnorth FC Vacancies

The below vital roles are currently vacant.

  • Treasurer (volunteer/committee): Responsible for maintaining the financial accounts, receiving money, and paying invoices. A financial background with knowledge of bookkeeping is desirable. Belnorth’s bookkeeping is managed with Quickbooks.
  • Small Side Games Registrar (volunteer/committee): Manages the registration and running of the U10 and U11 age groups along with general committee member duties (e.g. meetings, decisions)
  • President (volunteer/committee member): Capital Football Liaison (disciplinary), Representative on External Meetings, Public Grant Administration, External Media Liaison.
  • Vice President (volunteer/committee): Responsible for assisting the President.

Every volunteer, whether a coach, manager, CVO, referee or committee member, helps the club tick.
