Junior Club Awards 2026

Chance to Win a Free Rego: Each valid Junior Club Award nomination will go into the draw to win a free Junior Community Registration in 2027.

  • A valid nomination reason consists of 20 words or more.
  • Frivolous nominations will not be considered.
  • Nominations for family relatives will not be considered valid nominations.
  • Only one Junior Club Award nomination form submission per Belnorth member.

Junior Club Award Nominations

Mathew Starke Memorial Award

The Mathew Starke Memorial Award is presented to a player who participated under challenging circumstances (disability, sickness or injury).

The winner will receive:

  • an individual trophy
  • free registration to Belnorth FC in the following year

Peter Desmond Memorial Award (Junior Player of the Year)

The Peter Desmond Memorial Award is presented to a junior male and female player who displayed above-average ability and commitment.

The winner will receive:

  • an individual trophy
  • free registration to Belnorth FC in the following year
  • free entry to a Belnorth FC coaching programme

Sue O’Dwyer Memorial Award

The Sue O’Dwyer Memorial Award recognises a team that has shown outstanding commitment, dedication and achievement in promoting the spirit of the game of football and in advancing the development of team members and, therefore, the image and wellbeing of Belnorth FC.

Junior Club Person of the Year

It is awarded to a player who is heavily involved in the game and with the Club. For example, a player who is a good team member and is also a referee or coach of a Belnorth FC team.

Coach of the Year (COTY)

A team coach who demonstrates enthusiasm and commitment, ensuring all players learn and enjoy the game in a positive and encouraging environment.

There are Coach of the Year (COTY) awards for the below categories.

  • Youth/Young Coach: a coach who is 18 years or younger
  • U5-U7 Open
  • U6-U9 Just for Girls
  • U8-U9 Open
  • U10-U11
  • U12-U18

Manager of the Year (MOTY)

A team manager who goes above and beyond to ensure the team and its members are organised, fosters a positive team environment and is professional in their dealings with opposition teams and club officials.

Manager of the Year awards are available for the categories below.

  • U5-U9
  • U10-U11
  • U12-U18
