Gungahlin United
Belnorth FC joins the Canberra Football Community in extending our sympathy to Gungahlin United players, coaches, managers, volunteers, and their families.
Football is for everyone, and we encourage the GUFC community to stay strong and know that they are welcome at Belnorth FC.
Player, Referee & Team 2026 EOI
Knowing the potential disruption caused by the loss of Gungahlin United to the football community, Belnorth FC is accepting EOI from Junior and Senior players, referees, teams, and coaches for the 2026 winter season. This will assist the club’s planning for next season.
Below are EOI forms. 2025 Belnorth members are welcome to submit their interest ahead of 2026.
- U5-U18 Player EOI
- Senior Player EOI
- Junior Whole Team EOI
- Senior Whole Team EOI
- Junior Coach EOI
- Junior Referee EOI
Note, U12-U13 SAP & U14 Div 1 Trials EOI forms are available via our grading page and below.
Belnorth SAP EOI and Trial Dates
Belnorth FC is excited to seek expressions of interest for the 2026 Girls and Open U12 to U13 SAP League, as well as the U14 Division 1 Girls and Open players and coaches.
Player trials will be held from the 19th to the 29th of November, with EOIs closing on Sunday, 16th November. Further details and specific dates are available via the Grading Page.
What is the SAP League?
SAP (Skill Acquisition Program) League is a pathway and progression for
U12 and U13 players from half-field to full-field matches. It mandates two training sessions per week, home/away fixtures, and tournaments during the winter season. It will allow players to increase football contact and touches on the ball.
Summer Comp & Weather
We’d like to remind Summer Comp participants of our Wet Weather and Extreme Weather Policies.
With such a short season, games will go ahead when it is raining. In the event of a large volume of rain that affects pitch safety, around 20 mm in a 24-hour period, then cancelling games will be considered. ACT Sportsgrounds also monitors pitch moisture sensors to decide on ground closures.
As per the Extreme Weather Policy, precautions will be taken when there is lightning present (30/30 Rule). Due to the short duration of game nights and the handling of aluminium goals, lightning will usually result in the cancellation of games.
For information regarding other Extreme Weather, such as heat, cold, hail, and air quality, please refer to the Extreme Weather Policy.
