The Club Needs Volunteers in Vital Roles

As we enter the second part of the season, we reflect back on a big 2023 season so farRefreshed jerseys for U5 to U9 teamsnew U5-U7 goalsrecord MiniRoos player numbers, reintroduction of jersey sponsors and the transition of merchandise sales in-house, among other activities and initiatives.

Individual team duties are thankfully handled by volunteer coaches and managers. They are an essential part of the club, ensuring happy, smiling faces on game day and at training. Unfortunately, coaches and managers are only the tip of the iceberg. There are CVOs, fill-in referees/assistant referees and of course, committee positions.

Currently, we have four vacant committee positions out of eleven. That is over a third of the committee missing. Imagine playing a full-sized football match with the bare-minimum seven, every week for a whole season? It wouldn’t be fun! You’d expect goals to dry upresults to suffer, overuse injuries to occur and early retirements with floggings every other week!

With more than 1300 players registered, there are around 2400 members when considering parents/guardians. It shouldn’t be that hard to recruit another four committee members, but that is the position the club finds itself.

High on the wish list is a Treasurer and a Small-Sided Games (U10-U11) Registrar.

The Treasurer role would suit an accountantbookkeeper or someone that is familiar with accounting software, specifically Quickbooks.

The Small-Sided Games (SSG) Registrar would suit a parent who has a child in the U10 to U13 age groups. The SSG Registrar role involves the administration of the U10 and U11 age groups, from PlayFootball registration and Dribl support to equipment liaison.

If either of these two roles interests you or you would like more information, give us an email admin@belnorth.org.
