Belnorth Developing Junior Referees

One of the aims for Belnorth in 2020 is to develop junior referees from Belnorth players.

Referees are a crucial part of the game. Belnorth has a long history in developing referees, including 2006 FIFA World Cup Referee Ben Wilson.

Matthew Willington is the Referee Coordinator for Belnorth and the focus for 2020 is to mentor and support current and new game leaders.

Refereeing offers a great opportunity to build an understanding of the game, stay fit, develop confidence, earn pocket money and even get you to the World Cup.

If you are a junior player who loves the game, looking for a first job or a parent who spends plenty of time running the line and wants to be involved, then refereeing is for you!

Capital Football offers two different entry-level courses.

  • Game Leaders for children aged U13 & U14, refereeing U8 – U 11
  • Level 4 referees for those who are 14 years of age +, refereeing full-field matches (U 12 – U 18)

Please go to https://capitalfootball.com.au/referee/referee-training-programs/entry-level/ if you are interested in becoming a referee.

If you have any questions, please contact the Referee Coordinator Matt at refcoord@belnorth.org
