Last Chance to register for U10 & U11 Preseason Skills
Jimmy Kanaridis will run a six-session Preseason Skills and Acquisition Program for the U10 and U11 age groups. The program will focus on the four core skills: Striking The Ball, First Touch, 1v1 and Running With The Ball.
The preseason program is an excellent opportunity to hone your skills before grading later in February.
The program will be held from 10/2/2025 to 1/3/2025, on Mondays 5:45 pm at Kaleen and Saturdays 9:30 am at Giralang.
The program costs $80. Registrations are now open on PlayFootball and will close on 9/2/2025 or once sold out.
Winter Registrations Open
Winter Registrations for Belnorth FC are now open on PlayFootball and there is no fee increase for 2025.
Closing dates for registration for each age group are below.
- Seniors: 23/2/2025
- U10-U18: 4/3/2025
- U5-U9: 31/3/2025

U10-U18 Grading Dates Released
U10 to U18 grading for 2025 will be held from the 17th of February to the 5th of March at either Giralang or Kaleen, depending on the age group. Please check session times here. Jimmy Kanaridis and his technical team will be overseeing the grading.
- Players must be registered to grade.
- Players wishing to grade will be required to attend all sessions for their age group.
- Players are to check-in 15 minutes prior to the session.
- Players are to wear shin pads.
- Goalkeepers are to attend both their age group and Goalkeeping sessions (6:45 pm Fridays 21st and 28th at Giralang).
Volunteers needed for Grading Admin
Volunteers are needed to assist with Grading Check-in. If you can assist prior to your child’s grading session, please email admin@belnorth.org to offer assistance.

Referee Courses
Game Leader
Who – For participants aged 12 and up, will be able to officiate MiniRoos matches on completion of course.
Course requirements – complete online Laws of the Game modules (self-paced), and ONE in-person practical session. Course cost includes Game Leader shirt, bag and whistle.
Practical Session Dates – held at Hawker Football Centre:
- 5 April (9 am to 11 am)
- 5 April (12 pm to 2 pm)
- 27 April (9 am to 11 am)
- 27 April (12 pm to 2 pm)
- 24 May (9 am to 11 am)
Junior Football Match Official (Level 4)
Who – For participants aged 13 and up, will be able to officiate MiniRoos and Junior League matches on completion of course.
Course requirements – complete online Laws of the Game modules (self-paced), and ONE in-person practical session.

- 29 March (9:30 am-12:30 pm)
- 12 April – Female Only (9:30 am-12:30 pm)

Senior Football Match Official (Level 3)
Who – For participants aged 16 and up who already hold a Level 4 qualification OR direct entry for participants aged 18 and up who have at least two years football experience (playing/coaching). Will be able to officiate MiniRoos, Junior League and Senior League matches on completion of course.
Course requirements – complete online Laws of the Game modules (self-paced), and ONE in-person practical session.
Practical Session Dates – held at Radford College:

- 29 March (9:30am-1:30pm)

Coaching Courses in Preseason 2025
Foundation of Football Course – March 2025
The Foundation of Football is aimed at volunteer parents and coaches working with advanced beginner to competent level players or players aged up to approximately fifteen (15) years old.
Coaches will participate in practical sessions covering the basics of technique as well as learning about playing principles of the game. The course is practical and not graded, allowing the student to participate in the training sessions if they so choose. The course also promotes participating in group discussions with the goal of exchanging experiences.
Where: Yarralumla Oval, Mueller Street
When: Fridays 7th and 14th of March, 6 pm to 9 pm

AFC/FA C-Diploma – March/April/May 2025
The Football Australia/AFC C Diploma is aimed at coaches working with advanced beginner to competent level players or players aged approximately twelve (12) years of age and above. The course is designed to provide a logical connection to the Foundation of Football Certificate covering in greater detail:
- The technical aspects of the game, including teaching the basics of passing, receiving, and dribbling with the ball, as well as defending strategies.
- The principles of coaching and comprehension of the principles of play; and
- The concept of teaching behaviour using various sorts of practise methods.

When: Fridays 21st & 28th March, 4th, 11th, 18th & 25th April, 2nd &9th May, 6 pm to 9:30 pm (8 sessions)

Coerver Coaching Youth Diploma 1
The purpose of the Coerver Coaching Youth Diploma 1 is to help you, whether you are a professional academy coach, senior or junior youth coach, teacher or parent to plan & deliver more effective youth coaching sessions. You will learn about the Coerver Coaching philosophy and how to devise a session plan to develop skilled, confident, and creative players and teams.

Specialised Goalkeeper Coaching
Capital Goalkeeper Coaching is taking expressions of interest for specialised goalkeeper training for term 1.
Run by Deakin Jewell, NPL level player and qualified coach, this training is targeted to goalkeepers 13+ of all abilities in small groups focusing on building technical skills, mental resilience, and a true passion for the game.
Term 1 dates will be 17th Feb to 7th April (TBC) and will be based in Belconnen (location TBC).

- Secretary (volunteer/committee): Public Officer, custody of books, maintains written record (e.g. minutes/action items), lodgement of reporting documents for incorporated association.
- Minis Registrar (volunteer/committee): Manages the registration and running of the U5 to U7 Open age groups along with general committee member duties (e.g. meetings, decisions)
- Technical Director (paid): responsible for developing, implementing and nurturing player and coach development through sound program design and development for Belnorth. Further details here.
