Senior Finals
Senior Semi-Finals on the weekend weren’t as fruitful as we’d hoped.
The Strikers were humbled 5 nil in an unsavoury contest against GUFC at Charnwood. At Harrison, Liquid Football played out a topsy-turvy game that ended 3-3 but lost on penalties to the UC Stars. The Belles struggled in the wind going down 2-1 to Weston Molonglo and the poor Birdies were chasing shadows in a 5 nil loss to Canberra Croatia FC to players half their age.
Thankfully, the CLO5 Bisons came through a lacklustre first half trailing 1 nil to put on a stellar performance in the second to triumph 3-1 over ANU FC to book their place in this Saturday’s final against the UC Stars at Kambah 2.
The odds will be stacked against the Bisons in the final with the UC Stars boasting a 100% record during the season with 18 wins from as many starts, a 20 point buffer at the top of the table and a 99 goal difference! Despite the UC Stars clearly being in the wrong division, the ball is round and anything can happen in finals.
Go Bisons!
Saturday 31/8/2024
- 2:30 pm: CLO5 Belnorth FC Bisons vs UC Stars FC (Kambah 203, Laidlaw Place, Kambah)
