Senior Semi-Finals this Weekend

The business end of the season is here for our Senior teams, with five teams making semi-finals this weekend.

Special mention to the Capital League Women Division 2 team, the Belles, who took out the minor premiership for the second year running after doing the double in 2023 in Division 3. Who would bet against them doing it again this year?

Good luck to the StrikersBisonsLiquid FootballBelles and the Birdies this weekend! If you get a chance, drop by their games to cheer them on.

Junior & Senior Presentations

Seniors are first up with their presentation on Saturday the 7th of September at the Belconnen Labor Club. Then our U12 to U18 and referees on Saturday 14th also at the Belconnen Labor Club. Last but not least, the U5 to U11 presentations on Sunday 22nd of September at Kaleen High School.

All U5-U11 team representatives have been sent the team catering form to fill out that is due on the 31/8/2024. Ensure that team parents/players are consulted prior to submission. There is only to be one submission per team.

Catering information for U12 to U18 teams will be available when arrangements are finalised.

Senior teams (men and women) have been sent a link to buy tickets for their presentation with sales closing on Sunday 25/8/2024, so get in quick!

Participation, Team and Club Awards

End of season presentations mean Awards!

If you weren’t quite sure what awards there will be at Presentations, we have you covered.

U5 to U9 players will receive participation trophies, U10 to U18 players and referees will receive participation medals. In addition to the above the U12 to U18 teams (along with Seniors) will have team awards.

There are also special Club Awards for various categories. To nominate someone for a Club Award, either Juniors or Seniors you can do so hereJunior Club Award nominations close 31/8/2024 and Senior Club Awards close 25/8/2024.

Henk’s Summer Comp

Nominations are now open for Henk’s Summer Comp 2024/25 and will close on 22/9/2024.

Open to players of all abilities that are 5 years and over, including a dedicated Womens Only Comp!

Then check out our Junior Group for U5-U18 and a Senior Group for adults. We encourage parents and players to dive in to connect and plan, as you will enjoy the comp more with new friends rather than complete strangers in round one!

Summer Comp

Walking Football

Registrations for Capital Football’s Walking Football Summer season for over 45s are now open. It will cost $145 for 16 weeksTeams are mixed, up to 10 players can register with a requirement to have two female participants per team. It will be held at Hawker Football Centre.

The competition will be spilt into two divisions Wanderers (social) and Striders (competitive). Games start from 6.30pm. A full game goes for 40 minutes (20-minutes a half with a 5-minute break).

Both Team nominations (Team lists) and player registrations will close COB Thursday 10 October.

WWVP Requirement for Volunteers

A reminder that all coaches, managers and volunteers are required to have a Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) card. This includes both Junior and Senior team volunteers.

U5-U11 Sponsor Focus: Domino’s Belconnen, Kippax & Dickson

Current Belnorth FC Vacancies

The below vital roles are currently vacant.

  • Small Side Games Registrar (volunteer/committee): Manages the registration and running of the U10 and U11 age groups along with general committee member duties (e.g. meetings, decisions)
  • Operations Manager (volunteer/committee): organisation of equipment (distribution, auditing and ordering). Trophy Liaison (coordination role with registrars). Presentation day organisation (coordination role with committee). Event Organisation (coordination role)
  • Vice President (volunteer/committee): Responsible for assisting the President.
  • Technical Director (paid): responsible for developing, implementing and nurturing player and coach development through sound program design and development for Belnorth. In assuming a technical leadership role, the TD provides mentorship to coaches and players in all programs and fosters good sportsmanship in a safe and fun environment. Further details here.
  • Club Changers (volunteer): Assist with implementing Club Changer modules.
  • General Helpers (Volunteers).
  • Coaches & Managers (Volunteers).

Every volunteer, whether a coach, manager, CVO, referee or committee member, helps the club tick.
